Self-Made: my Journey
My main aim here is not just to tell my story but to share how I made decisions, overcame obstacles, and took advantage of opportunities on my personal journey to becoming who I am today.
This article is primarily to inspire you to chase your own goals, no matter how difficult things may seem.
I didn’t grow up wealthy, but I had the chance to pursue my interests and attend a decent school.
While I don’t claim to have gone from "zero to hero," I've had experiences that offer valuable tips and motivation.
In school, I was lazy, often finding better things to do than study. This approach didn’t help my grades, but I scraped by.
Listen to me: do not copy me, training your brain early makes it easier to learn new things later in life.
By the ninth grade, I realized that learning could be enjoyable.
So after high school, I started studying economics but dropped out after three semesters. It just did not fit me.
Eventually, I discovered a business law degree that blended law and economics, and it was the perfect fit.
This experience taught me:
Sometimes it's okay to abandon a path that doesn’t feel right. Passion is where you excel and find happiness, not just where you earn a living.
Throughout my studies, I worked multiple jobs, which was tough but taught me discipline and maturity.
Balancing work and study wasn't easy, but it provided invaluable life skills like time management and communication.
If you have to or not: get a job - it will teach you important lessons (and boosts your CV).
Luck also played a big role in my journey. Despite the challenges, fortunate turns of events made a difference.
Also, having mentors who believed in me and provided guidance was crucial. These relationships helped me grow professionally and personally.
So get your own mentor as early as possible.
After several years, I sought new challenges in my job, moving into unfamiliar territory.
Stepping out of my comfort zone was scary, but it taught me the importance of trying new things and learning from each experience.
Even when a decision feels "wrong," it can offer valuable lessons and lead to unexpected opportunities.
My journey has shown me that self-reflection, discipline, and the courage to take risks are key.
By understanding what excites you and seeking experiences to grow, you can navigate your path more confidently.
Embrace the journey, take chances, and let your passion guide you.
